Debt settlement companies will generally pay nothing until you have enough funds accumulated to settle debts. Since most banks will not deal with them (Bank of America, Chase, GE Money, HSBC, and Citi), I would suggest asking for your money back. If they refuse, contact the attorney general of both your state and the state in which they are located (Generally TX, CA, FL, or MA). Good Luck!
