I have a 2003 Saturn L300 and I am looking at putting in some Nokya Magnum Cosmic White size H11. The bulbs I have in now are 55w and theses are 85w do I need to put in an HID kit or should they work with the stock setup?Help/advice with headlight bulbs?
I tried the exact same thing on my fiesta. It melted the stalk switch and almost caused a fire. As most cabling is rated at the bare minimum for cost reasons, you are advised to replace the main feeds - and earths with a double wire, or relpace with an uprated wire. Take a main feed from the battery+ through an inline fuse kit - to the contacts of a heavy duty relay - from there to your lights. Use your existing wiring to power the relay.
To recap you need - Heavy cabling for 2x100w, single contact HD relay, Inline fuse.Help/advice with headlight bulbs?
I agree with ';Mr. P'; assessment.
If you are looking for an HID effect - then get an HID kit but don't shortcut the process by sticking higher powered bulbs into a socketed rated at a lower rating. Some engineer got paid big bucks to design the lighting system on your car - including the materials in the bulb socket. I wouldn't risk a meltdown and possible fire situation to get an HID effect.
Just chunk down the ';benjamins'; and get the kit that again is designed by some high $$$$$$ engineer and do it right the first time - rather than risk a very costly ';meltdown';.
Thumbs up to ';Mr. P'; for his answer!!!!
Happy Motoring

Im a 15-year-old sophomore male and short (4'2';). I need advice. Help!?
Im a 15-year-old sophomore male and short (4'2';) and Im in marching band. Since Im short, I have to make my steps larger than other people's steps. It hurts like crap. Any advice to help my steps in marching?Im a 15-year-old sophomore male and short (4'2';). I need advice. Help!?
I am so ashamed to be human if the rest of these idiots call themselves human too.
I am short, too. When I was in the military I had to lengthen my stride a lot. It helped to swing my hips as I stepped. Try to stay off your toes as much as possible because it can contribute to stress fractures and those aren't fun. When I say stay off your toes, it's because I used to put a spring into my step using my toes to maybe get another couple of inches with each stride. Don't do that! Good luck to you.
BTW, the idiot comment wasn't for the ones who are honestly trying to help.Im a 15-year-old sophomore male and short (4'2';). I need advice. Help!?
Get some advice from the gym teacher on the right exercises, especially stretching exercises, which require warm-up exercises before attempting them. You absolutely NEED to exercise for those long strides If you don't care for exercise, you can't get much help in that area. Also make sure you get the most suitable footwear to help your gait.
Not a whole lot that you can do there. Just keep trying and take the big steps. Or drop out of marching band if it hurts you to much. Go to the doctor and get checked to see if there is a reason why you haven't grown taller. There are some med's they give to some people to help them grow taller. Don't worry so much about being short and enjoy high school and have fun.
firstly, ignore the rude comments on here. people are just waisting their time. one of my best guy friends is around your height and tells me about problems like these at times..
sometimes doing lunges and all will help build leg muscle and ease the tension of making large steps. if you jump it may look a little bit funny. try not to step toe-first because that can hurt (i used to whenever i did tredmill stuff, eased tension when i stopped though), and using your hips to aide your momentum (like swinging em) will probably help too.
hey i was in band. but i think there nothing u can do but make larger steps. when u do right and left pinwheels try 2 b the person on tha end or close 2 that person on the end who dosnt hardly move. good luck
Umm I really don't know how you can help that... just make sure you don't jump because your gonna look like a bunny hopping across the place. (No offense)
if ur 4'2'; then ur a legit MIDGET lmao go find a midget chick nd make some small babies!
quit the band unless you like it a lot. just work hard pray to god to make u taller.

Where can I get advice to get help with debt settlement companies that take your money? Payed nothing!?
if you have signed a contract you are out of luck -- if not just do not pay them any more money!!! chalk up the loss to experience!!!Where can I get advice to get help with debt settlement companies that take your money? Payed nothing!?
Debt settlement companies will generally pay nothing until you have enough funds accumulated to settle debts. Since most banks will not deal with them (Bank of America, Chase, GE Money, HSBC, and Citi), I would suggest asking for your money back. If they refuse, contact the attorney general of both your state and the state in which they are located (Generally TX, CA, FL, or MA). Good Luck!

Digging a basement under my house sounds risky.....is there any advice centre who could help?
Fred West?Digging a basement under my house sounds risky.....is there any advice centre who could help?
Call a professional house mover to come and jack the house up.they have all the right equipment and it will be alot easier for the digging and pouring of concreteDigging a basement under my house sounds risky.....is there any advice centre who could help?
yes, it does sound risky if ur talking about digging under ur existing house. their is a high chance of ur house collapsing unless u drive pillar foundations along the perimeter of the building below the depth of the proposed basement. even at that it would be risky and costly.
if there is space at the front or preferbly the rear of ur house, u could dig a basement in that ground and lead it up to the house and then cover over with watever was originally there eg. landscaped garden but not large trees.
it would be a lot cheaper and is wat i would do
Check out www.npda.co.uk.
Its the national property developers association so I'm sure someone there will be able to advise you.
You can become a member (for free) and ask in the forum.
Hope this helps

You need a structural engineer and a specialist underpinning company.
To start to dig a basement without specialist advice is crazy.
The foundations of your house may only be 750mm below ground level. A foundation relies on a ne effective bearing caparity of your sub-soil beneath it imagine a huge bulb like pressure beneath your foundation spreading out at 45 degrees. As you dig out you are effectively halving the bearing capacity of the soil, all manner of problems occur, your excavation can collapse at any moment effectively demolishing your house, you can hit running sand ( a layer of sand saturated with water it's stable whilst contained but as soon as you release the pressure you can turn that sand layer into an unstoppable stream destabilising large areas, the only cure is to literally pump tonnes of concrete into the ground.
1. it's quite a bad idea, try and think of a better way to extend your house.
2. if you must do it, get a structural engineer to ascertain your sub soil make up.
3. employ a specialist under pinning company.
4. cross your fingers and prepare to write some large cheques especially if it goes wrong.
Good Luck!!

What advice can you give a minister; who really wants to help people in the military?
join up or shut upWhat advice can you give a minister; who really wants to help people in the military?
pray, it works. provide support in other ways easier to see, like sending care packages, letters, or visiting military families. great question! What advice can you give a minister; who really wants to help people in the military?
Please join the military to understand before helping the people in the military.
Other people pretty much hit it. You can become a military chaplain. I'm a line officer, so I have no idea how that works, but I'm assuming a recruiter can give you some basic info. If you've got a degree in some sort of divinity studies (is that even the right term?) you should be good to go. If you're looking for the opportunity to get up close and personal and really touch people, there's no better way to go about doing it.
If joining the military isn't the life for you, there's a bunch of other options too. I have no idea what a Christian Military Fellowship is, but how about this? Start working with your congregation on a project to send care packages. Not just toothpaste and deodorant and baby-wipes--do some research and see what's truly in demand. Heck, collect letters and send them over. Mail call is a HUGE morale boost when you actually get mail, no matter who it's from. Adopt a unit if you've got enough people willing. Work on community outreach to bolster your offering. A quick google should turn up a ton of charitable organizations looking for people to help in this matter. Start there, and if you get the hang of it, strike out on your own.
Military folks need pastoral care, they are going through severe stress, family separation, and are young enough not to know how to work with a bureaucracy. Any organization or person that can help with those kind of needs is a wonderful gift to a military community.
What they don't need are evangelists. As a former NCO I saw a lot of chaplains and chaplain assistance alienate soldiers by being more interested in evangelism than pastoral care. The kids that haven't made up their minds about religion will feel a lot better about receiving help than by being ordered to go to chapel.
I would tell him...Grow up and dont send your men to any war..and let them die!!..the only war they would die in ...is the war to repel any DIRECT attack on the States!!
You have two choices. You can become a military chaplain--which may mean you need more schooling or not; but it's the best way to put yourself in with the trooops; or you can join a mission which serves military men. There is one called Christian Military Fellowship, I think. You can find it through the internet.
Keep in mind that this is a volunteer army.. what does that mean? It means that they are well paid.... and the benefits are great monetarily and that is the reason why people want to go in and to re-up when their tour is done. AND.. when i Iraq, their pay is nearely doubled
Sign up for the Chaplins Corps, they are needing Chaplins real bad now. They have a program for Chaplins now. Go online to militarychaplin.com, I think or go to military.com and they would be able to direct you to the proper website.
Become a chaplain.

Confused and in need of advice. Can you help?
I work for someone who is a very influencial and upstanding leader in my country and, more particularly, the field I am currently pursuing. He is very close to the family and has played a tremendous role in many aspects of my life. He constantly provides assistance for which I am very grateful. I feel however, that I need to develop a personal sense of independence and want to discontinue working for him. Based on past events, I know that resigning from this job could lead to bitter relations that may affect my future career. I would like to begin working in another location---one in which he has no meaningful influence.
Your views and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you..Confused and in need of advice. Can you help?
Are you close enough to explain what you just said to him? This person might understand more then you know if you explain how grateful you are and just want to streatch your wings a bit.
You say ';Based on past events'; that this could go sour. I guess you have to be prepared to accept going out on your own will be just that...going alone . If you want this badly and have the resources to do so then go for it. You never know, it might be the best thing you ever did. Wont be easy....but might be worth it. GL!Confused and in need of advice. Can you help?
YVW and gl!
Please think about talking to him. Why create bad will when possibly yiou can achieve goodwill? Can you achieve personal Independence still with his company, just in a different position, away from his influence and assistance?
I would get all the experience I could working for him for the time being.
Talk to him about your career aspirations, and ask his advice. Do not resign at this time. Get his buy-in, and his advice, which you have said is valuable.
Let him know you would like more independence, and ask if he has any projects you could do with an increased level of autonomy from him.
Good luck! You are lucky to have a mentor, please make the most of it!!
just tell him you are thinking you need to develope a sense of independence. I just say tell the truth, but dont say I dont want to work for you anymore. say it in a nicer way.
If he is truly close to the family have someone you trust and he is close to feel him out in this respect. If he genunely cares for you or your faamily he won't feel threatened that you want to strike out and make it on your own. he will feel as if he is giving his blessing to the venture and therefore still retain a sense of control. If you do it without his prior knowledge, he may feel slighted and that you are ungrateful. Good luck.
If this man is as ';upstanding'; as you say, then sit down and have a heart to heart conversation with him. Do not let fear get the best of you. Take action to overcome your fear. Explain to him how you're feeling, how instrumental he's been in getting you to this point, and how blessed you've been to be mentored and prepared for this moment of your life. He should understand that there's a point where every eagle must leave its nest and fly. Emphasize your gratitude for his relationship and how knowing him has prepared you for this next step of your life, to start a new thing. If he is a true leader, he will understand and give you his blessing as you enter this next stage of your life.
Wish I have someone to look over my shoulders and be there to help me when I fail. You shouldn't feel that you individuality is limited. Ask him for advice to branch out from what you are doing now and may be he will find you a post away from his authority.bright lipstick
