Ideas for earning an income from web site based around giving advice/helping people?

Is it possible to start a website to give advice and support to people and earn an income from doing so?





Ive heard of adsense, how does this really work and is it effective?





What other ways would there be to earn a living, while helping others online? (im not looking to become rich, just a modest income would be more than ok)





Anyone have any original ideas which would be used for a web site in this area? (support, drug, abuse, relationship advice)





I have a few ideas but want something unique, effective, different - perhaps like a phone counsilling service online!

You could create a blog site, that also utilizes Google Adsense (a service that provides target adds for your site based on your content).





If you have something that you are very passionate about, and you really feel that you can add to the group consciousness that is the internet, then go for it.





You will need to market your site, and read up on how to drive more visitors to your site. You even see many people marketing there site here on Yahoo Answers, by trying to say their site has the answer to whatever the daily questions are :). But, that is really frowned on .. as it is really spam.





You really should concentrate on marketing the normal ways, maybe even buying into Google Adsense and placing adds with them, that drive traffic to your site, or join banner networks etc..





There are so many ways to market your site. But the easiest, is still through word of mouth.. Try to find a niche that is not being filled, and fill that with as much passion as you can. I recomend you learn, and get good tools for start.

Because all of them is not for become rich, they are for becoming more rich than you are now. So if you are not rich now, forget them. All of them are based in huge opt in list (that in starts you don't have), huge amount of visitors to your website (that in starts you don't have)...
