Agriculture and farming? Need Help & Advice!?

I want to work on a farm either with animals or crops, what agricultural degree would you reccommend in a College or University? Would this help me achieve my dream of becoming a farmer? What exactly needs to be done?Agriculture and farming? Need Help %26amp; Advice!?
Well crazy boy you don't need a degree to farm. Are you even serious? You sound like someone who wants to get away from the city. Trust me if you really want to farm just go and do it. It will take hard work and long hours then I would recommend doing something like that. The best thing you can do is get a job at a farm and learn the basics. Then if you have enough money you can buy a farm and give it a shot.Agriculture and farming? Need Help %26amp; Advice!?
I say find a farm to work on. Find some farmers and speak to them face to face. They will tell you DON'T DO IT, but that is just what they have to say. You can't be a farmer unless you have a strong heart and someone to pray to.

If you just have to get that piece of paper, but I would still work on a farm during the growing season or all year.

There are some colleges known for their ag programs: ABAC, UGA, UF.

Also, Learn spanish--

Take business classes (or marry a business major).
Take a look at all these majors offered at Texas A%26amp;M:

Illinois has fewer:

I'm not really sure what all the terminology means, but I think you can figure that out once you get admitted. Or you can ask the guidance counselors at your high school.
I would going to a technical college. There are many different programs available especially in rural areas. Farming today is very different than it was 50 years ago. It is definitely a business and a farmer must have knowledge in many different areas
well man you just take the degree of being an agriculturist...

and if you want a more complicated job of preparing measurements of the farm, ratios and proportion and so whatever, you gotta take agricultural engineering...

good luck, man!!!
although i will not call you crazy for wanting to be a farmer there is nothing else like it so i concur with answer one.
