Help!! Advice Needed!!?

ok I am 18 years old, and i've got to say i think my voice does sound like a kid. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iTkR2gUw0ZQ that is a link of how i sing, I'm the first one singing the solo. So idk. How would I make my voice sound mature? I am taking voice lessons right now. Idk I could use all the advice and suggestions. Thank you. And I'm in for alot of singing for easter, tonight, friday, saturday, and sunday. Maybe some tips on that to so that i don't lose my voice. Thanks so much for helping me.

Well, first of all, you're only 18! Your voice probably hasn't completely settled yet, never mind matured, so don't worry if you don't sound like a normal adult singer would. But if you do want a slightly more mature sound, round out your vowels by dropping your jaw and making your lips more vertical, especially on more spread out vowels like hard As and Es. This should make your sound more bell-like and clear.

It also sounds like your voice is somewhat nasally, as if you were talking and singing through your nose. Although nasal resonance does have it's place, especially when you are singing high notes that require use of your head voice (sound should feel like it's coming from the top of your head or your nasal cavity, and is generally lighter), you should strive to make your singing clear and light. Also speaking of head voice, make sure that you don't try to sing using your chest (strong or belting sound) voice on high notes. The only notes that should be purely chest voice are your lowest ones. Practice singing mid-range notes with a combination of the two.

Finally, to save your voice, don't talk too much, make sure you drink a lot of water and you don't have any dairy, carbonated soda, coffee, or alcohol (which you shouldn't be drinking anyway). Like I said before, don't belt, and remember that power should come from your breath support, not your vocal chords. If you don't overdo it and sing until your voice is raw, you should be fine.Help!! My choir director's favorite line:

';Attack your constants and R';oh';m';ah';ance your vowels!'; The key to singing is pronunciation.

As far as your voice goes stay away from smoke, dairy foods (causes congestion) and cold drinks especially before performing. Do drink warm water with lemon and honey and stay hydrated. Good luck and have fun!
i think a lot of your problem is that you need to form you lips better. stick your lips out more and make sure the tip of your tongue is at the bottom of your teeth. push your lips forward. for example sing ';A'; with a smile on your face. Now change your lips so that they form an ';o';. you should hear the change. do it in front of a mirror.
I haven't listened to the clip because I'm at work without speakers. I won't recommmend it, but smoking will make your voice sound mature.

The better way is to make sure you're breathing properly to make sure you have enough air, and get a full resonant sound out of your voice. Push your abs out when you breath in and push them in when you breath out (this forces the air out).
